Devlog 2 - Am I Going Somewhere?


Starting finishing the game

So now we are only two days of the end...

I STILL HAVE SO MUCH TO DO!!

This week passed flying and I don't have any parachute...

Design:

What I Have Done:

In the design area I made one more enemy, the archer, based on the scarecrow and created the animations for them. Also made the bullets for the archer.

Also made the menus, all the buttons and titles. At this point I notice that I need something to fill the background, for now I don't have nothing other then a base color and it is very boring.

What I Still Need To Do:

  • Find a font for the buttons and instructions
  • Draw a background image
  • Other enemys and bullets
  • Draw buttons icons
  • Player animation
  • Sounds


Programming:

What I Have Done:

So, for programming we have some huge improvement. I have turn all the enemys, player, particles, bullets into prefabs and this is helping a lot.

My initial intention  was to make the enemys to spawn in a random position of a circle around the player, but I didn't like any of the ways I find to do that, so I'm putting them in a fixed position.

Now when the player is hit by a bullet he take damage and the health bar decrease, also die if the health bar reach zero. The two types of bullets are implemented (the normal bullets and the collectable ones).

Also is possible to navigate between menus, the buttons have a visual response when clicked and I add a screen shake when the player take damage.

What I Still Need To Do:

  • Connect the collectables collection to the Experiment Bar
  • Eliminate enemys when the Experiment Bar is full
  • Change levels when al the enemys are done
  • Put on the system that will save what collectables you have take.

I am very afraid to don't have time for the other levels and the sounds. My priority is to have at least 3 levels, but I don't know how much time this coding will take of me.
